Two men were arrested in Sant Feliu de Guíxols after a fight involving four men, a knife and an iron bar. One person was taken to hospital after the incident, which happened on Friday night.
The altercation took place at about 10pm on Carrer del Mar in the coastal town, according to local police. The men started arguing for reasons that have not been made public, before the dispute turned into violence.
During the fight, a knife and an iron bar were used as weapons. Mossos d'Esquadra officers detained two of the men involved.
A third man was taken to Sant Jaume Hospital in Calella with several injuries, including at least one fracture.
The Catalan police have opened an investigation to clarify what happened. Officers have not ruled out further arrests in the coming hours as enquiries continue. For more Catalonia-wide local reporting, see our news coverage.
