Sant Cugat del Vallès instructor Dami Espinosa has reached the top 10 final of the Next Rising Presenter competition, an international Zumba event that will be held on 28 and 29 May 2026 at Rimini Wellness in Italy.
Espinosa, who teaches Zumba and CiRCL Mobility at Be Fit Sant Cugat, is the only participant selected from Spain. He was chosen from more than 100 applicants worldwide and will compete against finalists from countries including Poland, Germany, the Philippines, Chile, Argentina, the United States, Korea, Norway and Australia.
Speaking to Cugat Mèdia, Espinosa said that for him, Zumba is more than exercise. He described it as joy, community and expression, and said he values the human connection he builds in his classes, as well as the energy he shares through music, dance and performance.
Born in Mexico City, Espinosa moved to Catalonia at the age of eight. He later lived in Granollers and now lives in Castellterçol. His background combines fitness, dance and entertainment, and he trained at the Orthos academy in Barcelona, where he met artists including Chanel and Lola Índigo.
His work has also included collaboration with singer Henry Méndez on the music video Voy a gritar que te amo, and participation in recordings for a new fitness programme by influencer and personal trainer Patry Jordán. He said he first came to Zumba through Marta Formoso and Jésica Expósito.
Espinosa said he once wanted to be a vet, but had always liked dance and hip-hop. He later studied Physical Education and began teaching aerobics, step, hip-hop and Zumba. His style is known for strong vitality, a high technical level and energy that connects with his audience. More Catalonia news
