Roses, in Girona, was the scene of a Maritime Rescue operation on 5 June 2026, when the Salvamar Lyra towed a sailboat that had suffered an accident near Cap Norfeu.

According to L'Empordà, the sailboat had gone out during rough sea conditions and later needed assistance off the coast. The rescue vessel responded to the distressed boat in the waters near the headland.

Cap Norfeu is an exposed stretch of coastline, and conditions there can become difficult when the sea is rough. Maritime Rescue was able to bring the sailboat under control and tow it to safety.
