Salou council has started repainting road markings on 120 streets across the municipality, with work beginning on 25 May 2026. The campaign is part of the town’s 2026 road improvement plan and is aimed at improving safety for pedestrians and drivers, especially near schools.
The first phase covers streets across Salou’s eight sectors. The repainting will take place gradually between May and November, a timetable the council says should help limit disruption for residents and traffic.
The work includes longitudinal lines, pedestrian crossings, parking zones, loading and unloading bays, and other road symbols and markings. The council says clearer markings will improve visibility, help organise traffic flow, and support safer movement in areas with heavy pedestrian and vehicle use.
School surroundings will receive special attention. The council says clear road markings are particularly important for students, families, and adults during drop-off and pick-up times.
PROSEÑAL, S.L.U. will carry out the work. For more local coverage, see our news page.
