Salou held its 12th Associations Fair on 6 June 2026 on Passeig Jaume I, bringing together 42 stands from local associations and groups. The event placed the town’s civic life at the centre of the day.

Mayor Pere Granados and the Councillor for Citizen Participation, Júlia Gómez, opened the fair, alongside pubilles, municipal councillors, association representatives, residents and visitors. The council said the fair reflects the strength of Salou’s associational movement and its role in community life.

Granados said cities are built by people, not only by administrations, and highlighted the work of volunteers and associations. Gómez thanked the participating organisations and pointed to the strength, diversity and commitment of Salou’s associational fabric.

During the day, many groups offered information, workshops and demonstrations, turning Passeig Jaume I into a busy family space. The main stage also featured performances by young children, music from a DJ and traditional acts, including Salou’s Giants and Sal-i-Ou.

The mayor said the fair is more than a display of activities, describing it as a sign of shared experiences, traditions and projects. He also said Salou is an open, diverse and welcoming town, and that participation in cultural, sports, social, educational and solidarity groups helps strengthen a sense of belonging.

Granados added that 10 new organisations registered over the past year, bringing the total to 179 Salou-based groups. The fair also coincided with Catalonia’s Cultural Associationalism Day, marked on 4 June. For more local coverage, see our news page.
