Roses, on the Costa Brava in Girona, is opening its summer season this weekend with the HolaEstiu programme. The events run from Friday to Sunday on the Passeig Marítim, in front of Plaça de Catalunya, and are open to residents and visitors.

The line-up includes Orquestra Maribel, Tapeo Sound System and Banannabeach Trio. DJs Adrià Giner, Marvin and Alegre will also perform across Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings, according to the town hall.

Food and drink tastings will be offered by local venues each evening. These run from 7pm to 11pm on Friday and Saturday, and until 10pm on Sunday. Participating businesses include Ca la Valeria, Can Cairó-La Fraternal, Can Cervera, Cervesa de Roses, L’Àncora, La Deliciosa, M Bistro, Stop Bar and Zappi Pizzeria.

Between 29 May and 7 June, Ca la Valeria, L’Àncora, La Fraternal and Harry’s Bar will also serve special HolaEstiu cocktails. The programme includes private-sector participation through the Roses Cap de Creus Business Association, with local businesses offering discounts on products and services.

Those offers cover nautical activities such as cruises around the bay, kayak hire, catamaran excursions, and surf and paddle surf rentals. Other discounts apply to swimwear, flip-flops, towels, sun protection ranges and garden furniture. Some accommodation providers are also offering 15% off bookings made with the code HolaEstiu26.

Roses says the initiative makes it the first municipality on the Costa Brava to launch the summer season. The town hall says the full schedule and timings are available in an attached brochure. For more local coverage, see our news page.
