In Roses, Girona, two fixed speed cameras at the town’s main access points will begin issuing fines from 1 June. They were installed last December to help control vehicle speeds and reduce the risk of accidents at key entry and exit points in the town centre, according to Roses officials.
The cameras are placed in areas with heavy traffic and sudden changes in speed, especially where interurban roads meet urban streets. Officials said these locations have seen accidents in the past, which is why extra safety measures were needed.
The sites were chosen because different road users pass through them, including private vehicles, heavy transport, cyclists and pedestrians. The aim is to make circulation safer and more orderly for everyone using these routes.
