Train services in Barcelona experienced significant disruptions on Sunday, with Rodalies lines R1, R2 Sud, and R4 affected by an infrastructure problem between Arc de Triomf and Clot stations. This incident led to diversions, reduced frequencies, and skipped stops at several stations, according to the railway operator.
For the R1 line, trains heading towards L'Hospitalet de Llobregat were diverted via Passeig de Gràcia. These services did not stop at Plaça Catalunya and Arc de Triomf stations in Barcelona. Similarly, R4 trains travelling towards Sant Vicenç de Calders were also diverted, bypassing Torre Baró, Fabra i Puig, La Sagrera, Arc de Triomf, and Plaça Catalunya stations in Barcelona.
Service Changes and Shuttle Trains
The R2 Sud line, which runs between Sant Vicenç de Calders and Estació de França in Barcelona, saw its frequency cut to two trains per hour in each direction. These trains made all scheduled stops. On the R4 line, services between Vilafranca and Manresa started and ended their journeys at L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
Additionally, a shuttle train service was put in place for the R4 line between Terrassa and Fabra i Puig. These measures were implemented to manage the impact of the infrastructure issue, officials said.
