Reus presented the final document for its 2025-2028 Action Plan for Socio-economic Development and Employment on Wednesday, 29 April, at Mas Carandell. The plan, which builds on an earlier strategy from 2021, aims to promote integrated, intelligent, and sustainable economic development in Reus and the wider Camp de Tarragona region.

The initiative, led by the Department of Business, Training, and Employment in collaboration with IMFE Mas Carandell, seeks to establish alliances and work with a global and territorial vision. Its goal is to drive quality employment and create new opportunities for residents.

The plan's development included a detailed analysis of Reus's socio-economic situation. It also incorporated input from two collaborative workshops held in July and November 2025, which brought together businesses, organisations, training centres, and experts from various sectors.

Shaping Reus's Economic Future

In-depth interviews were also conducted with key figures from the economic and social fabric of Reus and Camp de Tarragona. J3BTres Consulting, an external firm specialising in local development and economic promotion, was responsible for these activities.

The resulting action plan features projects and services designed to strengthen quality employment, professional qualifications, career guidance, and support for both unemployed and active workers. It also includes measures to improve business services and encourage regional cooperation, aiming to create a strong, sustainable local economic model aligned with the real needs of Camp de Tarragona.

Attendees at the presentation had the chance to validate and prioritise the proposed projects, helping to define the strategic directions for Reus's socio-economic evolution in the coming years.

Òscar Subirats, Councillor for Business, Training, and Employment, stated, "We have worked rigorously and with the involvement of the territory to define a realistic and transformative plan. Now we want to share it with the public for joint validation, which is why I invite everyone to participate in this Wednesday's session and be part of a project that will define the economic future of our city."

IMFE Mas Carandell organised the event and coordinated the entire process. The organisation will now lead the plan's implementation. This project is part of the Strategic Planning programmes, funded by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia and the Ministry of Employment and Social Economy – State Public Employment Service, under their local development support programmes.
