Reus Airport in Tarragona province will add direct charter flights to Porto, Portugal, this summer, with Soltour operating 20 flights between June and September. The service is intended to bring more Portuguese visitors to the Costa Daurada during the peak season.
The route was announced at a promotional workshop in Porto, organised by the tourism boards of Tarragona Provincial Council, Salou, Cambrils and Vila-seca, together with the Business Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Tarragona province, known as FEHT. More than 70 travel agents and representatives from Portuguese agencies attended the event at the Sheraton Porto hotel. They were given information on the Costa Daurada for the 2026 season, with participating companies including Best Hotels, Oh!tels, La Siesta Salou Resort & Camping, H10 Hotels, Grupo Blaumar, Num Hotel, PortAventura World, Nàutic Parc, W2M, Viajes Olympia and Viajes Velero.
The workshop forms part of the Costa Daurada Joint Tourism Promotion Plan, a public-private initiative led by the tourism boards of Tarragona Provincial Council, Salou, Cambrils and Vila-seca, La Pineda, together with FEHT. Officials say the Portuguese market is growing, and FEHT data shows Portuguese tourism in Tarragona province has risen by 76% over the past three years.
According to the same data, overnight stays increased from 121,693 in 2022 to 213,985 in 2025. The organisers said the Porto event was designed to support that growth by presenting the latest tourism news from Salou, Cambrils and Vila-seca-La Pineda, along with the area’s accommodation, gastronomy, family activities, sports and leisure offer.
A promotional video was shown during the meeting, which ended with a networking cocktail for Portuguese professionals and representatives from Tarragona’s tourism sector. For official tourism information, readers can also check the Costa Daurada tourism website and Reus City Council.
