Olot-based firm RCR Arquitectes will be presented with the Manel Xifra i Boada Award for Technical and Technological Knowledge Transfer on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. The recognition comes as Barcelona holds the title of World Capital of Architecture, highlighting the firm's significant contributions to the field.

The architects from Olot have been chosen for their role in placing the Garrotxa region on the global architecture map, according to the organisers. Their work has garnered international attention, making them key figures in their sector.

Recognising Architectural Excellence

The awards are a joint effort by the College of Graduate Engineers and Industrial Technical Engineers of Girona and Comexi Group. They also receive support from the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI), the Government of Catalonia, and the University of Girona.

This award acknowledges RCR Arquitectes' commitment to sharing technical and technological knowledge. The firm, known for its distinctive approach to integrating architecture with natural landscapes, previously won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2017, further cementing their international standing.

Looking ahead, the award ceremony will draw attention to the ongoing architectural dialogue within Catalonia, especially with Barcelona's current global designation. It serves as an opportunity to celebrate local talent and its wider influence.
