RC Polo has been crowned champions of the King's Cup field hockey, beating Atlètic Terrassa 1-0 in the final held in Sant Cugat del Vallès. The match was tight and goalless for three quarters, with both defences proving solid and giving away few chances.
The decisive moment came in the final quarter when Marc Miralles scored the only goal of the game from a penalty corner in the 49th minute. This broke the deadlock and secured the title for the Barcelona team. Atlètic Terrassa tried to react in the closing minutes, but Polo managed their advantage until the final whistle.
In the third and fourth place play-off, Club de Campo defeated Sanse Complutense in a penalty shoot-out after the teams drew in regular time. Junior, the host club for the competition, was eliminated in the quarter-finals, according to officials.
