Brazilian packaging firm Raft Embalagens is set to invest over €12 million in a new plant in Valls, Tarragona province, creating up to 60 jobs as part of its European expansion strategy. Assembly work for the new facility is scheduled to begin in June, with industrial operations expected to commence by September.
The company, which specialises in industrial packaging and storage solutions, will establish its European base in a 6,500 square metre facility within the Valls industrial estate. This move marks a significant step in Raft Embalagens' strategy to expand beyond its established Latin American markets.
Initially, the project will create 15 new jobs. However, the company plans to progressively increase its workforce, aiming to employ 60 staff within three years. This expansion brings a portion of the Brazilian firm's operations to Catalonia, supporting its international growth objectives.
Strategic Location for European Expansion
Raft Embalagens, with over 40 years of experience in developing packaging solutions for the protection, transport, and logistical optimisation of goods across various sectors, chose Valls due to its strategic location. According to Valls City Council, the municipality's excellent connections to first-rate road and logistics infrastructure were decisive factors in the company's decision to establish its presence in the area.
The new plant's launch in September will solidify Valls' position as an attractive hub for international industrial investment, contributing to local employment and economic development in the coming years.
