In Girona province, UE Olot has said goodbye to one of its most familiar names, with Figueres-born midfielder Pedro del Campo confirming his departure after seven seasons at the club.

Del Campo, who wore the number 11 shirt and captained the side, said the main reason for leaving was the difficulty of combining football with his work and personal life. He played 211 matches for Olot.

He described the decision as emotional and said it was hard to put into words. According to local reports, he told supporters: “It will be difficult, but I will try.” He added that after seven seasons, he had decided to step aside because it was very complicated to balance everything.

Del Campo also said Olot would always be his home, underlining the strong link he built with the club and its supporters over nearly a decade.

The departure leaves UE Olot looking for a replacement for an influential captain ahead of the next season. For more local football coverage, see our news page.
