Mollerussa, in the Pla d'Urgell area of Lleida, is launching a summer civics programme for young people aged 12 to 16. The scheme, called Reels, Camera, Action, runs from 29 June to 10 July and is organised by the council's Youth Department.
The sessions will take place at the Pla d'Urgell Youth Office from 9.30am to 1.30pm. Council officials say the aim is to give young people a voice on everyday behaviour that helps make the municipality more respectful, inclusive and pleasant for everyone.
Participants will take part in community activities and environmental activities, along with discussions about citizen behaviour. The group will look at situations linked to respect in public spaces and neighbourly relations, then turn their ideas into awareness messages for the wider community.
As part of the programme, the young people will make short social media videos, known as reels, to share their views and proposals on civic attitudes. Educational leisure and performing arts professionals will guide the sessions, with the project designed to support participation, community commitment, respect and shared responsibility.
Those who take part will receive a season pass for the municipal swimming pools. The activity costs €50 for the two-week period. More information and registration details are available on the Mollerussa Council website.
The civics scheme is part of a wider summer offer in Mollerussa for children and young people. The council also has summer camps for children aged three to eight, held at Ignasi Peraire School from 29 June to 28 August, and Estiu XL for children aged nine to 12, running from 29 June to 28 August at several local venues.
