Mollerussa City Council has relaunched its 'Gaudim Mollerussa' project this April, an initiative designed to improve coexistence and encourage responsible use of public spaces, particularly among children and adolescents.
The project employs two distinct and complementary teams of professional monitors. One team, focused on detection, consists of four monitors. Their role is to observe and identify behaviours related to civility in public areas. This includes issues such as ball games outside designated zones, scooter use, and other inappropriate practices. This team has been active since 11 March, working on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The professionals are identifiable by their Civility Plan vests and accreditation cards.
From this Friday until 18 September, a second team will join the project. This team focuses on revitalisation, developing educational and recreational activities in public squares. The goal is to strengthen coexistence and promote values such as respect, environmental care, and community participation. Through play and direct interaction, the project offers positive alternatives for how young people can spend their free time in public spaces.
This initiative is part of the municipal Civility Plan and continues actions implemented in recent years to promote positive coexistence in public areas. It offers quality educational alternatives for children. The project receives funding through the 'Temps per Cures' (Time for Care, TxC) programme from the Government of Catalonia and is coordinated by the Equality Department.
