Mollerussa, in Lleida, hosted the final Basketball Schools Gathering on Sunday, bringing together nearly 400 young players aged 3 to 8. The event formed part of the town’s programme as Catalan Basketball City 2026.

The gathering included 36 teams from around 30 clubs across the region, with 84 matches played across the Babys and Escola categories. It marked the end of the basketball schools season.

Held at the Firal Pavilion, the event was set up to host one of the region’s largest formative basketball meetings. The day focused on community sport, family participation and basketball values in a festive setting.

According to Mollerussa officials, the gathering was a success in helping promote basketball among young children. For more local sports coverage, see our news page.
