Emergency teams in Girona have widened the search for a 16-year-old boy missing after going out on a jet ski in Roses. The operation began on Wednesday at 11pm and now stretches south to Torroella de Montgrí.

According to the Bombers de la Generalitat, teams are searching by land, sea and air. The fire service said the operation includes drones and around 50 personnel from several agencies, including Mossos d'Esquadra, Salvament Marítim, Rural Agents, the Red Cross, Local Police and the Guardia Civil.
Pol Artau, a Fire Brigade sub-inspector and head of the intervention, said the teams carried out a simulation that suggests marine currents and wind may have carried the teenager towards the southern coast. The Guardia Civil is leading the investigation into the disappearance, according to the same official account.
