Manresa, in Central Catalonia, will celebrate International Nurses' Day this Thursday, 14 May, with a conference at Sant Joan de Déu Hospital. The event centres on the leadership role of the nursing profession and includes parallel activities such as a walk and a padel tournament.
The main conference, titled "Nurses who lead: person-centred care and transforming results", will take place in the auditorium of Sant Joan de Déu Hospital. This annual gathering aims to highlight the value of nurses within the health system and recognise their contributions to patient care and the transformation of healthcare models.
Laura Raulet from Learn and Grow will deliver a keynote speech on professional and personal growth in nursing. Raulet has over two decades of experience in coaching, support, and professional development.
Sharing Experiences and Knowledge
The day will also feature the fourth edition of the TalkINF competition. This initiative allows nurses to share experiences, knowledge, and reflections through short talks. The competition aims to encourage dissemination and active participation from nursing professionals with new and accessible presentations.
Additional activities are planned over the coming weeks to complete the International Nurses' Day commemoration in Manresa. This Saturday, 16 May, a walk will take place along the Llobregat riverbed, starting from the Ametlla de Merola car park. The Bages delegation of the College of Nurses of Barcelona organises this activity.
Furthermore, the second edition of the nurses' padel tournament is scheduled for 30 May.
Collaborative Organisation
The commemoration is a result of collaboration among various organisations, companies, and institutions linked to the nursing profession. The organising bodies include the Sant Andreu Salut Foundation, the Althaia Foundation, the Bages delegation of the College of Nurses of Barcelona, the Catalan Health Institute in Central Catalonia, and the Faculty of Health Sciences of Manresa at UManresa.
This year, the Althaia Foundation is responsible for the organisation, with the celebration rotating among the participating entities annually.
