Residents in Manresa's Mion neighbourhood have launched a photography competition to highlight problems caused by incivility and to call for greater action from the local council. The initiative aims to make visible the issues affecting public spaces in the area.

The Mion Neighbourhood Association, which organised the contest, is inviting residents to submit photographs that show instances of incivility, degradation, or neglect in public areas. This forms part of a wider programme of activities designed to improve the neighbourhood, according to the association.

Submitting Entries and Judging

Photographs must be submitted to the association by 15 May. A judging panel, made up of association members and photography experts, will select the best images. These winning photographs will then be publicly exhibited and receive awards.

The competition's main goal is to raise awareness among both residents and authorities about the importance of keeping public spaces clean and well-maintained. It also seeks to encourage a more civic attitude among all neighbours, officials from the association said.
