Manresa writer Cristina Gavilán Xuriguera has launched a crowdfunding campaign to publish a children’s book about premature birth, with a target of €5,490. The book, Ganes d’estar amb tu (Eager to be with you), is being created with illustrator Daniel Pozo Martínez.
The project is based on Gavilán’s own experience of premature birth. She says the aim is to offer families a sensitive story that helps children and parents understand a difficult time in a clear, accessible way.
The campaign is being run through the edita.cat platform, where supporters can contribute to the publication costs. The funding will go towards editing, printing and distribution.
