A man was seriously injured in Olot, in the Garrotxa area of Girona province, after falling from a second-floor apartment on Saturday.
The incident is believed to have been accidental. He was taken to Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona for urgent medical treatment, and emergency medical services attended the scene.
According to Infogarrotxa, preliminary information suggests the man was trying to enter his home from outside the building after leaving his keys inside the flat.
Reports say he climbed a gutter pipe, which then broke and caused him to fall several metres. Authorities are now looking into the circumstances of the incident and the condition of the gutter involved.
