Spain's Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, officially opened the new facilities of engineering firm Grup Solucions in Sant Fruitós de Bages on Monday afternoon. The company's new headquarters are located in the Carretera de Berga II industrial estate.

During his visit, Minister Planas praised the Bages-based company, recognising its position as a leading engineering firm in Catalonia for the primary sector and waste management. He emphasised the need to "invest" and "transform" the sector across Spain to maintain its global strength.

Driving Sector Evolution

Planas highlighted Grup Solucions as an example for the industry, noting its contribution to the sector's evolution through technology and deep environmental knowledge. An instance of this is the company's use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) software for farm design.

The minister was accompanied by the Catalan Government's Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food, Òscar Ordeig, and the mayors of Sant Fruitós, Joan Carles Batanés, and Manresa, Marc Aloy. Their presence underscored the regional and local importance of Grup Solucions' expansion and its role in agricultural innovation.
