Four people were injured in a nightclub brawl in Lloret de Mar, Girona, in the early hours of Sunday, with three of them suffering stab wounds.
Local police arrested one person on suspicion of assault. The investigation is still open as officers work to establish what caused the fight and who was involved.
Emergency services attended the scene at around 6am after the disturbance broke out at a venue in the town. Officials said the exact cause of the brawl has not yet been confirmed.
Three of the injured were taken to Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona. Two remain in a serious condition, while the third is less seriously injured.
The fourth injured person, who had contusions, was taken to Hospital Comarcal de la Selva in Blanes, where they are recovering.
