A head-on collision on the C-63 in Lloret de Mar, in Girona province, left at least one person seriously injured on Monday afternoon. The crash happened at around 1.15pm at kilometre 3.2 of the road.

Emergency services attended the scene, including firefighters from the Generalitat, traffic officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra, and medical teams from the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques, known as SEM. Initial reports said one of the victims was trapped inside a vehicle.

The injured person's exact condition has not been officially confirmed. Mossos de Trànsit officers are investigating the cause of the collision.

Traffic on the C-63 was affected for much of the afternoon, with circulation reduced to alternating one-way flow. That led to queues for drivers entering and leaving Lloret de Mar.
