Lleida’s tourist bus and Gardeny Castle have started their summer season, with the city service running daily from 1 June to 13 September and the castle open from Wednesday to Sunday and on public holidays.
The tourist bus runs from 1 June to 13 September with departures at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. From 19 September to 1 November, it will run on weekends and public holidays, with morning departures kept and afternoon times adjusted to 5pm, 6pm and 7pm, according to Lleida Turisme.
The route includes four main stops, Pont Vell / Paeria, Ricard Vinyes / Avinguda de Prat de la Riba, Mercat del Pla / Seu Vella and Castell Templer de Gardeny. Lleida Turisme said the service had 9,660 users between mid-July and the Christmas holidays last year.
Gardeny Templar Castle will be open from June to September, Wednesday to Sunday and on public holidays, from 9am to 2pm. Guided tours are set for Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays at 11am, while the Templar for a Day activity will take place on the second Sunday of each month at 11am.
Lleida Turisme has also renewed its Smart Tourist Destination, or DTI, badge, awarded by the Secretary of State for Tourism through SEGITTUR. The city said its compliance level rose from 22% in 2022 to 47.5% this year.
The badge is valid for two years and assesses tourist management in governance, sustainability, technology, innovation and accessibility. Lleida has been part of the Network of Smart Tourist Destinations since February 2022, working towards a more efficient and sustainable tourism model across municipal departments.
