Thousands of people gathered in Arbúcies, Girona, this weekend to see the natural flower carpets that mark the start of the town’s Enramades festival.
The tradition is now in its 30th edition. It acts as a prelude to the main festival, which is scheduled to take place from 14 to 17 July.
Residents spent weeks preparing the temporary street displays, which feature religious and floral designs. The carpets turned the town centre into a shared public space for local craft and celebration.
Good weather helped bring a larger crowd than organisers expected. The turnout reflected both the appeal of the carpets and the strong community effort behind them.
Enramades is one of the most important celebrations in the Selva region. For more Catalonia coverage, see our news page.
