Lleida drivers should expect road closures next week as the Paeria carries out pavement repairs and asphalting on Comtes d'Urgell and Roger de Llúria streets. The work runs from Monday, 8 June, to Friday, 12 June, and is the final phase of a wider project to widen and improve pavements in the area.
From Monday to Friday, Roger de Llúria will be closed to traffic between Camí de Corbins and Comtes d'Urgell. The closure affects traffic heading towards Barris Nord, and drivers will be diverted via Camí de Corbins and Baró de Maials streets.
On Friday, 12 June, the main paving work will take place. Comtes d'Urgell will be asphalting between Príncep de Viana and Josep Pla, and the final section of Roger de Llúria, including the full junction, will also be paved. As a result, Comtes d'Urgell will be closed to traffic from Príncep de Viana to Josep Pla on that day.
The council says the work is needed to repair a sunken section of road at the intersection with Comtes d'Urgell and to complete the pavement upgrade. The aim is to leave the area with a smoother and safer surface for vehicles and pedestrians.
Residents and commuters in Lleida are advised to plan alternative routes throughout the week, with extra care needed on Friday when the largest closures are in place. For local updates, see the news tag page.
