Lleida, Catalonia, is at the centre of this latest update on Lleida CF, after reports confirmed the football club received no written offers during its insolvency process.

Only one serious expression of interest emerged. It came from a Barcelona-based law firm acting for an investment fund, which contacted the insolvency administrator at the start of the recently concluded season to ask for information about the club’s financial position.

The firm said its client was interested in Lleida CF because of the club’s strong social following, despite its significant debt. That interest did not progress, and the administrator was later told the fund had chosen to invest in another club instead.

Aside from that approach, and an unrelated fraudulent attempt, there were no other serious written offers for Lleida CF during the insolvency proceedings.
