In Barcelona, Junts has confirmed that four candidates have secured the endorsements needed to take part in its primaries for the party’s next municipal candidate.

The four are Jordi Martí Galbis, the Junts leader on Barcelona city council, Pilar Calvo, a Junts deputy in the Spanish Congress, Glòria Freixa, a Catalan Parliament deputy and first secretary of the chamber’s bureau, and lawyer and former deputy Jaume Alonso-Cuevillas.

The party said the campaign period will run from Saturday, 13 June, to Friday, 19 June. Voting is scheduled for 20 and 21 June, with results expected on Sunday, 21 June.

Martí Galbis was the first to reach the required 20% of endorsements from Barcelona members, doing so within 48 hours. Calvo reached the same threshold on the same day.

Alonso-Cuevillas secured his endorsements the following Monday, and Freixa followed a few hours later. The primaries will decide who represents Junts in the next municipal elections in Barcelona.
