Tarragona will host the Inipro corruption trial this autumn, with hearings scheduled for September, October and November 2026, according to the latest resolution sent to the parties involved.
The case dates back 13 and a half years, when an internal audit first flagged irregularities. It centres on the Municipal Institute of Social Services (IMSS) in Tarragona and an allegedly irregular extension of a contract awarded to Iniciatives i Programes (Inipro).
The audit warned that Tarragona City Council had extended the contract in a way that was not proper. The company has been described as allegedly linked to the Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSC).
Nine people will stand accused in the trial. The proceedings are also expected to hear from 47 witnesses.
