Igualada, in Anoia, will host its annual Classic Car Meet on Saturday 4 July, as part of the Sant Cristòfol festivities. The event will be held on Avinguda Barcelona for the first time, with organisers saying the new setting gives the exhibition more space and better visibility.
The meet is organised by Igualada Comerç, Moto Club Igualada and the Sant Cristòfol Commission, with support from Igualada City Council. Organisers expect up to 100 classic vehicles, and registrations are open until 2 July or until all places are filled.
Vehicles taking part must be pre-1990 models, with a valid ITV vehicle inspection and compulsory insurance. The event is intended as both a public exhibition and a social activity, with the aim of supporting local commerce and bringing more visitors into the city centre.
The programme begins at 9am with vehicle arrival, registration checks and parking in the designated area. Participants will receive breakfast from local businesses, and a classic motors activity will run alongside the display during the morning.
At 12pm, there will be an institutional reception and closing ceremony, followed by refreshments and diplomas for all participants. Organisers will also present a commemorative gift and special awards for the oldest vehicle, the vehicle that has travelled the furthest, and the best preserved or restored car.
The Classic Car Meet has become a regular date in Igualada’s calendar, linking automotive heritage with the Sant Cristòfol festivities and local trade. For more local updates, see news.
