Patients in Girona are waiting an average of 170 days for a first traumatology appointment, according to April data from the Department of Health. The delay is close to six months for residents in the Girona Health Region.
By the end of April, 11,317 patients were on the waiting list for a traumatology consultation. Since January, 10,536 appointments have been carried out, but the backlog remains high.
The figures point to continued pressure on public healthcare services in Girona, where demand for specialist orthopaedic care remains strong. The Department of Health is still processing appointments, but the waiting time has not yet come down to a shorter level.
