Girona has been named Spain’s most unfaithful city for the fourth consecutive season, according to a ranking published on 12 June 2026 by the extramarital dating app Ashley Madison. The result keeps Catalonia at the centre of the national list.

Manresa and Barcelona complete the top three, with Manresa rising from fourth place last year to second, and Barcelona moving up from fifth to third. Outside Catalonia, Granada is the highest-ranked city, in fourth place.

Catalonia has six cities in Spain’s top 20, including Girona, Manresa, Barcelona, Lleida, Tarragona and Reus. Compared with the previous year, Lleida fell from seventh to tenth, Tarragona dropped from eighth to 13th, and Reus moved from 15th to 16th.

The full top 20 list is: Girona, Manresa, Barcelona, Granada, León, Madrid, Valencia, A Coruña, Lugo, Lleida, Bilbao, Burgos, Tarragona, San Sebastián, Zaragoza, Reus, Alicante, Marbella, Valladolid and Alcobendas.

Ashley Madison also reported the main reasons respondents gave for infidelity. Sexual dissatisfaction was cited by 30%, a need for more attention and affection by 29%, and the desire for new experiences by 28%.
