Girona businesses are using alternative finance more often, alongside traditional banking, as companies look for different ways to fund growth and day-to-day needs. The trend was the focus of the news conference “Alternative Financing for Business”, held on Tuesday at the Hotel Carlemany in Girona.

The event was organised by Diari de Girona and sponsored by Implica Corporate Finance. It brought together representatives from banks, investment funds and firms specialising in corporate finance to discuss how the funding landscape is changing for companies in the area.

The conference looked at how businesses can access capital beyond conventional loans. Speakers discussed the growing role of a wider mix of funding sources, which can offer more flexibility and solutions tailored to different business needs.

For Catalan companies, the shift points to a more varied financial market, with alternative finance increasingly used to support expansion, innovation and operational costs. The discussion in Girona reflected a broader change in how firms are approaching business funding across Catalonia.
