Barcelona’s Fort Pienc neighbourhood, in the Eixample district, will hold its 2026 Festa Major from Thursday 4 June to Sunday 14 June. The 11-day programme brings together cultural events, traditional displays and community gatherings across local streets, squares and civic spaces.
The festival opens on 4 June at 8.30pm with the opening speech by Loli Herrera, founder of the Fort Pienc Residents’ Association, at the Ateneu Fort Pienc Civic Centre. The full programme is available in PDF format, according to Betevé.
Weekend events begin on Friday 5 June with the “From Verse to Voice” concert at 7pm, featuring the Jovičić-Brull duo, soprano Milica Jovičić and pianist Berta Brull, at the Transformadors Senior Citizens’ Space. On Saturday 6 June, children’s games are scheduled for 10am in Plaça del Fort Pienc and the Fort Pienc Market.
Later on 6 June, a castellera display is set for 6pm in Plaça del Fort Pienc, with groups from Castelldefels, Esplugues and Sagrada Família taking part. The evening continues with DJs from 8pm to 1am in Plaça d’André Malraux, followed by a children’s and adult correfoc from 8.30pm to 10.30pm in Plaça d’Anna Lizaran, led by Cabrònica del Nord. On Sunday 7 June, the 20th Fort Pienc Arrossada will take place at noon at the junction of Ribes and Lepant streets.
The second weekend includes a youth concert with DJs from 7.30pm to 2am on Friday 12 June at Avinguda Meridiana and Carrer de Lepant, plus a havaneres concert by La Petita Havana Quartet at 10pm on Avinguda Diagonal, near Padilla and Los Castillejos streets. Saturday 13 June, marked as Big Saturday, will feature activities in Plaça del Fort Pienc from 7pm to 2am, a communal potluck dinner from 8.30pm to 11pm at Gran Via and Avinguda Diagonal, and a street party with a DJ from 10pm to 2am at Avinguda Meridiana and Carrer de Lepant.
The festival ends on Sunday 14 June with a Casalero lunch at 12.30pm in Plaça d’André Malraux. A Sant Joan bonfire and celebration will follow on Tuesday 23 June at 7pm at Carrer de Lepant and Ausiàs Marc. For more Barcelona local news, see our news tag.
