Barcelona saw five separate knife attacks unfold within a 12-hour period from the evening of Saturday 12 September to the early hours of Sunday 13 September, leaving five men injured across three districts.

Timeline of Attacks

The first incident occurred on Via Favència near Ronda de Dalt after a traffic dispute. A man was stabbed in the head with a pocket knife by another individual, who fled in a white Cupra despite attempts by the victim and witnesses to stop him. The Guardia Urbana took over the investigation and had made no arrests as of Sunday morning.

At around 21:45 on Saturday, a second attack took place in Poblenou, coinciding with the start of local festivities. A disagreement between neighbours on Carrer Llacuna led to one man being wounded with a bladed weapon. He was not in life-threatening condition. Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia’s regional police, detained two men, one on suspicion of assault and one on suspicion of threats.

Vilapicina and Carmel Incidents

Late on Saturday night, at approximately 23:45, a Dominican national was stabbed multiple times in the neck during a fight in Vilapicina, Nou Barris. Officers found the man on Carrer Beret accompanied by friends. Initial reports indicated the wounds were not deep. Two SEM (Sistema de Emergencias Médicas) ambulances responded, providing first aid before transferring him to hospital. His current condition has not been disclosed.

The Mossos are investigating the circumstances of the fight and identifying those involved. No arrests have been made in connection with this attack.

In the early hours of Sunday, two underage males were attacked in the Carmel area of Horta-Guinardó. One was found with stab wounds on Carrer Sigüenza. Almost simultaneously, police learned of a second minor injured by a blade just streets away. Authorities are examining whether the two cases are linked.
