Opening Marks Regional Growth

Caixa Enginyers officially opened its first office in Reus on Wednesday 23 September 2026, at Passeig de Sunyer, 3-5, marking a key step in its regional expansion. The inauguration was attended by local political, economic and social representatives, including Reus mayor Sandra Guaita and Tarragona Provincial Council president Noemí Llauradó. The event, held this morning, reflects the cooperative bank’s sustained growth in the Tarragona area. Since 2015, its membership has risen from 1,562 to 7,668 by 2025, with business volume exceeding €258 million, more than eight times its level a decade ago.

Juanjo Llopis, general director of Caixa Enginyers, highlighted the human-centred model of banking: "We believe people must be at the centre, to support them in making sound financial decisions throughout life, while caring for their financial health and our planet."

Commitment to Financial Inclusion

Alongside physical expansion, Caixa Enginyers reinforces its commitment to financial inclusion through its mobile office service, #CEApropa. Since launching in September 2024, the service has made 2,616 visits across Catalonia, providing essential in-person support to 64 municipalities without bank branches or ATMs. Noemí Llauradó praised this initiative, noting its importance for elderly residents who rely on face-to-face assistance for financial tasks. "This social and solidarity-driven spirit is one of Caixa Enginyers’ defining traits," she said. Félix Masjuan, president of Caixa Enginyers, added that the bank has been recognised as Spain’s top financial institution for service quality in 2025 by STIGA, scoring 8.93 compared to the sector average of 7.84. The new Reus office sits opposite the modernist Estació Enològica, a symbol of the city’s agricultural heritage, and faces a developing green space replacing a former parking zone. Mayor Sandra Guaita described both landmarks as reflections of Reus: a city rooted in its past while looking firmly to the future.
