Four students from Institut Cendrassos in Figueres have won the Wapps Award for Socially Committed Website for a project that highlights the work of Amics Solidaris Almogàvers Empordà.

The award was presented at the Digital Communication Conference. It recognises website quality and innovation, as well as social impact. In this case, the jury singled out the students’ social commitment and their use of digital tools to support a charitable cause.

The charity, Amics Solidaris Almogàvers Empordà, works to help people in need across the Empordà region. The organisation said it was grateful for the recognition and stressed the value of working with schools to raise public awareness of social issues and encourage civic participation.

The project shows how a school in Figueres can connect digital learning with community needs. It also gives students a chance to apply technical and creative skills to a real local issue.
