In Figueres, Girona, Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 22-year-old man accused of cyber fraud totalling more than €23,000. The alleged offences took place between 20 and 28 May, according to police.

Investigators say the suspect is alleged to have made fraudulent withdrawals using social engineering methods. These included fake SMS messages that appeared to come from banks or courier companies.

The Mossos d'Esquadra say they have recovered part of the stolen money. They are continuing the investigation to find out whether the man may be linked to other similar cases.
