Figueres, in Alt Empordà, will host the fifth Artisan Beer Tasting Fair on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 June. The event will take place on the Rambla and is organised by Comerç Figueres in collaboration with Figueres City Council.

This year’s fair will bring together eight artisan beer producers and six food establishments. Six of the brewers are from Alt Empordà, while two guest producers will come from Garrotxa and Northern Catalonia.

Entry is free. Opening hours are 5pm to 10.30pm on Friday, and 11am to 2pm and 4pm to 10.30pm on Saturday. The programme will also include four concerts, a DJ and a street parade.

In the days before the main fair, five themed tasting sessions are planned at locations across Figueres. These include the Chapel of Sant Sebastià, next to the apse of Sant Pere, and the Salvador Dalí Birth House. Master chocolatier Arnau Triola will also take part in the tastings.

The fair has been moved earlier in the year, after previous editions were held in September and November. Organisers say the change in timing, along with the larger number of participants, is intended to offer a broader experience for visitors and support local businesses and regional produce.
