Cadaqués, on the Costa Brava, is the setting for Estrella Damm’s latest summer advert. The company premiered the film on Thursday afternoon, and says it features musician Santi Balmes.
For readers in Cadaqués, Girona and across Catalonia, the launch does not bring any public service changes, route diversions or price impact. It is a seasonal campaign release, with the main public-facing material available through Estrella Damm’s own channels.
According to Estrella Damm, the advert is titled La llegenda del Canyut. The company says the film shows Balmes peeling a potato in a kitchen overlooking a cove in Cadaqués, while he listens to a local story about the titular Canyut.
Estrella Damm also says Balmes links “beer and the arrival of good weather”, and describes the campaign as signalling “the start of summer”. The company’s official website is here: Estrella Damm official website.
The choice of Cadaqués fits Estrella Damm’s long use of Mediterranean summer imagery and coastal settings across Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, according to the company’s campaign material. Estrella Damm also says this year’s launch marks its 150th anniversary.
