Figueres, in northern Catalonia, will host the fifth edition of its popular music festival, El Rampell, starting this Friday at Parc de les Aigües. The event is part of the city's Fires i Festes de la Santa Creu celebrations.

El Rampell took over from the former Embarraca’t festival, previously held in Plaça Europa, in 2022. Since then, it has become a well-established gathering for music and festivities in Figueres, attracting large crowds.

Pere Montserrat, the city's Youth Councillor, highlighted the festival's success. "With the change of location and format, record numbers have been achieved," Montserrat said. "The environment has shifted, attracting more and more people, making it a family-friendly space where groups of friends meet, with an intergenerational audience, all in a healthy and welcoming atmosphere."

The festival is known for its diverse line-up. This year, headline acts include Ginestà, Doctor Prats, Banda Neon, and Crim. These groups are expected to draw significant audiences to the Parc de les Aigües over the festival period.

Festival's Growth and Community Impact

The move to Parc de les Aigües has been a key factor in El Rampell's growth. The new location offers a larger, more accessible space, which has helped to broaden the festival's appeal. Officials aim to continue this positive trend, ensuring El Rampell remains a central part of Figueres' cultural calendar.

The festival's focus on creating a welcoming and safe environment has also contributed to its popularity. It provides a space for residents of all ages to enjoy live music and celebrate together, strengthening community ties during the annual Fires i Festes de la Santa Creu.
