Manresa is mourning the death of Eduard Teixeiro Macipe, the former CE Manresa coach, who has died at the age of 77. The club announced his death and said he left a lasting mark on its history.
Teixeiro, who was born in Zaragoza in 1948, was closely linked to a major period of change for Centre d'Esports Manresa. He helped oversee the team’s move from the Pujolet stadium to the Nou Estadi del Congost.
In a statement shared on social media, the club said Teixeiro “leaves an indelible mark during the eighties as coach of the Juvenil A and the first team until 1993.”
His work with both the youth side and the senior team made him an important figure during the 1980s and early 1990s, when the club was building its identity at a new home ground.
The club expressed its condolences and recognised his long-standing dedication to CE Manresa. For more local football coverage, see our news page and our latest updates.
