More than 450 people from Igualada renewed the tradition of offering the Votive Candle to the Mother of God of Montserrat on 30 May, continuing a long-standing civic and religious custom from the city.
The group left Igualada bus station at 9 am in eight coaches and travelled to Montserrat as part of an organised procession. On arrival, they attended the Saturday conventual mass at the sanctuary.
Father Abbot Manel Gasch received the delegation in the basilica, where the participating organisations presented their traditional candle offering. The ceremony kept alive a practice that links Igualada with Montserrat year after year.
The event is part of the city’s cultural and religious heritage, and it remains a shared moment for local groups and families. For more local coverage, see our news page.
