Tarragona is among the Spanish locations affected by Dow’s plan to cut up to 138 jobs in Spain. The US chemical company, which operates production plants in the Tarragona petrochemical hub, says the move is part of its global Transform to Outperform plan.

The worldwide restructuring, first announced in December 2025, involves eliminating 4,500 positions. Dow says the aim is to raise its operating result before taxes, interest and amortisation by at least $2 billion.

The job cuts in Spain will affect different operations, including those in Tarragona, a major industrial centre for the company. Dow has not yet set out the exact roles or departments that will be affected.

The company has also not given a timeline for when the reductions will take place. More details are expected as the plan is implemented across its international network.
