Tarragona will host filming for Disney's live-action adaptation of 'Tangled' from 1 to 10 July this year. The film, which brings the story of Princess Rapunzel to life with real actors, will include scenes with as many as 500 people dancing simultaneously, according to the Diari de Tarragona.

Costume fittings for the production are scheduled for a single day in June. Those selected as extras, following castings in Salou and Girona, have specific appearance requirements. Men must grow their hair and beards, while women need natural hair colours and less-plucked eyebrows.

Filming Schedule and Casting Details

Beyond Tarragona, filming for 'Tangled' is also planned for other locations in Spain. Alicante will see production from 24 to 30 June, with Girona hosting filming from 13 to 29 July.

The casting calls in Salou were promoted as an “international musical film” opportunity and were organised in two phases. The initial audition on 30 April for adults aged 25 to 80 drew hundreds of people to the Hotel Sol Costa Daurada. A second round of auditions for children took place on 1 May, also attracting significant interest. Teenagers submitted their auditions online.

Both Salou casting events were calmer than the one held in Girona the previous Monday, which was so heavily attended it closed early after reaching full capacity. The widespread enthusiasm for the film suggests strong local interest in participating in the major production.
