Palamós, in Girona, now has a new Correos Citypaq parcel collection point at 36 Hospital Street, according to a statement released on Monday. The installation is designed to make online shopping and parcel handling easier for local residents.
The self-service lockers are available at any time, so users can receive, send and return packages from online purchases. Correos says the 24-hour service is intended to give people more flexibility, especially if they cannot collect parcels during normal opening hours.
Recipients have five days to collect their parcels after they are notified. If a package is not collected within that period, customers then have an extra 15 days to pick it up from the nearest Correos post office, officials said.
The new point is part of Correos' wider plan to expand its network of automated parcel points across Catalonia and Spain. The company says Citypaq offers an alternative to home delivery and helps address missed deliveries and the need for more flexible parcel management.
Correos says it continues to look for new locations for these units as online shopping grows. For readers following local service updates across the region, see our news coverage.
