Salou, on Catalonia's Costa Daurada, will host over 1,200 athletes from 50 countries for the Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada 2026 triathlon. The international competition is scheduled from 8 to 10 May, according to Salou officials.
The event reinforces Salou's position as a top-tier sports destination, with over 60% of participants travelling from outside Spain. This international draw helps to extend the tourist season beyond the summer months.

The three-day competition is expected to create a significant economic and tourism impact for the municipality, attracting athletes, technical teams, companions, and fans from around the world.
