Cerdanya, in the Catalan Pyrenees, has hosted another edition of the Cerdanya Happy Walking festival, with this year’s programme placing environmental education at the centre.
According to organisers, participants and officials gave very positive feedback on the event. The festival combined guided activities in the local area with regional gastronomy and discussion about the future of the trails.
The format brings outdoor activity together with learning about the natural environment. That approach is intended to raise awareness of the landscape while encouraging responsible use of the area’s hiking routes.
The festival has become a regular date on the hiking calendar in the Pyrenees, drawing visitors to Cerdanya for organised walks and related activities. Its continued growth reflects demand for events that link physical activity with cultural and environmental themes.
Organisers plan to build on this year’s edition by keeping environmental themes in future programmes, with the aim of reinforcing conservation and responsible tourism in the Catalan Pyrenees. For more local coverage, see our news page.
